Is there a minimum payout, or cashout fees?

No this is powered entirely by Stripe/PayPal, their fees vary country to country. Art.Page does not charge any cashout fees or require any minimum payout amount.

For print on demand sales handled by Art.Page, there will be a delay in payout whilst the product is manufactured/delivered.

Who are you and why should we trust you?

This isn't a random website with nameless figures behind it, I'm Stewart the director of ArtWisp Limited, a company registered in the UK with company number SC671528. This can be verified on the UK government website here: https://www.gov.uk/get-information-about-a-company

I've worked as a software developer for years primarily in the financial services industry at both massive megacorps and startups, I have friends who are artists and actually started this because of my experience as a client trying to find/hire an artist to commission for a birthday present 🖼️.

Furthermore our payment processing is powered by Stripe & PayPal, meaning clients are purchasing directly from you so the funds go straight to your account, not via our bank. This means there's no wait time involved, no minimum payouts, and no risk of the website vanishing one day along with your money.

What's your stance on NSFW art?

We want to empower artists as much as possible, this absolutely includes artists who work in the NSFW space. The two main criteria around whether NSFW content is permitted are:

1. The content is not illegal

2. The content doesn't violate the terms of the payment processors (Stripe/PayPal). Stripes general stance is open to NSFW artworks, so long as it's not a photograph or recording of real humans engaging in sexual acts.

There will be a more verbose definition of what is/is not acceptable when we launch in our terms of service.

There will likely be some type of content filter, eg content needs to be flagged and will be auto-blurred unless users opt in and confirm they're 18+.

How will you compete with major existing websites with high traffic like RedBubble or ArtStation? Or website builders like Shopify/Wix?

Large marketplaces/communities like RedBubble, ArtStation

These are great when (if) they drive traffic to your page, ArtStation in particular is great for the professional community and job opportunities.

Really we're not trying to compete with them directly, these sites are not substitutes for personal websites and normally only offer a subset of the features you need to operate your business and build your brand from.

Website builders like Shopify/Wix

Shopify ($29/month + extra cost for plugins/themes) or Wix (£13[$17]/month) are great products, however their default setup doesn't support the unique income streams common to artists (eg commissions/subscriptions for exclusive content), meaning you need to spend some time setting them up/paying for extra plugins. They're also incredibly feature rich targetting a wide range of businesses, which means the extra cost you pay for these platforms is going towards a lot of features you won't actually use.

Our approach is to build what artists need, make it simple to use, and make it beautiful by default.

Self host a Wordpress website

Whilst there's an abundance of cheap hosting available; Wordpress can be tricky and very time consuming to setup correctly. This can cause multiple problems like: being slow, looking unprofessional, doesn't work well on mobile devices, not accessible to disabled users, or even security vulnerabilities.

With our competitive pricing and generous free tier, you can have a personal site that's fast and does everything you need in one place, without the headaches of having too much control.

What's the difference between Art.Page Prints and Printful Prints?

Both Art.Page Prints and Printful Prints are solutions to automate the manufacturing and delivery of goods like fine art prints, t-shirts, stickers without having to pay a large sum upfront buying in bulk.

1. 1. When a sale happens, with Art.Page Prints you're just sent a share of the revenue. With Printful Prints because it can take several days for the funds to reach your bank account, you need to have cash available to pay Printful to start the manufacturing process. For many artists this can cause cashflow issues, eg if a post of theirs went viral and suddenly they needed $500 for prints.
2. 2. With Art.Page Prints, Stripe fees, product manufacturing fees all come out of Art.Page's share of the sale price. With Printful Prints, you are responsible for all of this.
3. 3. Art.Page Prints offers an extensive product range and wide variety of print sizes. (Eg Printful has 12 sizes for their Enhanced Matte Paper Poster, we offer 34 different sizes and a wider variety of paper types).
4. 4. Art.Page Prints handles VAT/GST/Sales Tax, with Printful Prints you're responsible for this.
5. 5. Art.Page Prints handles successful delivery of the product, sending replacements etc. With Printful Prints you're responsible for arranging that with Printful.
6. 6. Art.Page Prints the revenue is split depending on your membership tier, with Printful Prints you keep 100% of the markup. So if you sell products for a large premium Printful could be more profitable, if you sell them for average prices they'll be broadly similar.

How do referrals work?

When a user signs up after clicking on your referral link, both them and yourself will qualify for a free month of our pro tier once they've completed the onboarding process. This means confirming their email address + linking a stripe/paypal account.

As we're still building the platform and account onboarding can't be completed yet, all referrals will show as pending referrals in the meantime.

For a referral to qualify, the referred account must complete the full onboarding process. This will mean confirming their email address + linking a stripe/paypal account.

Whilst we're in the early adopter phase and the platform is being build, all users will be on the pro tier free of charge, your free months will not be used until we begin charging for the platform.

What's the difference between Stripe/Paypal's payment processor fee, and Art.Page's platform fee?

Payment Processor Fees

These are the fees charged by Stripe (and in the future PayPal ). These will generally be applied to every transaction that happens on your page.

The only exception to this is Art.Page prints where Art.Page will handle payment processing on your behalf.

Art.Page Platform Fee

We do not charge any platform fee for donations!

For purchases/subscriptions our fee varies based on your membership tier as detailed on our pricing page.

This fee covers our costs to host your content and helps support development of the site.
